NALAS LIAISON OFFICERS TALK ON NETWORK’S FUTURE
The Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe (NALAS) held its third meeting in this year of the Committee of the Liaison Officers (CLO) in Skopje, Macedonia, on 13th and 14th October, 2016. The CLO meeting was preceded by the session on decentralisation Observatory with the project team within the Regional Cooperation funded project. There was also a session with the GIZ Expert on Institutional Project Evaluation and on the NALAS Revolving Fund establishment.
International Cooperation Coordinator Mustafa Ozkul represented Marmara Municipalities Union in the meeting which was chaired by the second NALAS Vice-President Mr Darko Fras and attended by Liaison Officers of the NALAS member local government associations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, and Slovenia as well as GIZ representatives and NALAS Secretariat.
NEW KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTS INTRODUCED
Meeting started with the presentation of interim narrative and financial Reports covering the period of January - July 2016. The CLO made a review of the work accomplished during the reporting period. It included New Knowledge Products, notable among them include Model for Integrated Solid Waste Management in the pilot rural and coastal cross-border region of the Adriatic Sea, Asset Management Business Planning Decision Support Tool; Report on Benchmarking on Solid Waste Management in South-East Europe, Report on Fiscal Decentralisation Indicators for South East Europe 2006-2014 and Publication on Land management and taxation practices. New Course Introduction to Asset Management in the Water Sector within NALAS e-Academy, information / knowledge exchange and Task Forces/Peer supported activities were other subtitles contained therein.

UPDATE ON APPLICATIONS FOR EU FUNDED PROJECTS
NALAS Project Officer Joachim Roth and Program Officer Milena Garthley explained the last situation regarding whole picture of EU funded projects/and Project applications. Out of 14 applications are 1 completed, 2 being implemented, 1 shortlisted, 5 rejected and 5 pending.
HANDOVER OF LOCAL LEADERS SEE PROJECT PRODUCTS
NALAS, its member LGAs and the GIZ have jointly implemented the project "Local Leaders in South-East Europe: Lead for Change (LL SEE)" to enhance leadership and management competences of local decision makers and managers from Municipalities and Public Utility Companies for planning and implementation of investment projects in the field of municipal WSS infrastructure. Particular emphasis is given on a regional approach facilitating cross-border peer learning and dialogue. Together with LL SEE partners, a systemic training package for leaders and managers of SEE countries has been developed.
