RESLOG Migration Master Plan Preparation Training Held in Istanbul

RESLOG-Turkey Migration Master Plan Preparation Training took place in Istanbul on 12-13 February 2019 with the participation of pilot municipalities from Marmara Region.

Within the framework of the RESLOG Project, Migration Master Plan Preparation Training was held in Istanbul, on February 12-13, 2019 with the participation of municipalities from the Marmara Region namely Sisli Municipality, Zeytinburnu Municipality, Sultanbeyli Municipality, Osmangazi Municipality, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality as well as planning experts.

The training aimed at supporting the capacity development of municipalities and city councils in migration management. Local governments focused on the concept of resilience during the training. Each municipality shared its own migration stories and projections for the future.

What is RESLOG?
RESLOG (Resilience in Local Governance)-Turkey, funded by the Swedish development agency, was launched in 2018 to improve the process of migration by local governments. RESLOG aims to support the basic services both for immigrants and local residents in the framework of pacifism, inclusiveness and the resilience in Turkey and Lebanon, two countries affected by the Syrian immigration crisis. The Project is planned to continue until December 2020 in partnership with the Swedish Association of Local Governments and Regions, Union of Municipalities of Turkey, Marmara Municipalities Union and Union of Cukurova Municipalities.
