YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN SOUTH-EAST EUROPE DISCUSSED IN BELGRADE
Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities gathered LADDER Project representatives and LDAs from South-East Europe, in the capital of Serbia for the Special initiative of SEE Path held from the 10th to 12th October within European Local Democracy Week. On behalf of Marmara Municipalities Union Ms. Merve Agca, International Cooperation Expert attended the meeting.
After the opening speechs realised by Mr. Vanja Udovičić, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Branko Ružić, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Mr. Tim Cartwright, Head of Office, Council of Europe Office in Belgrade, Mr. Đorđe Staničić, Secretary General, Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and Ms. Stanka Parać Damjanović, Regional Programme Co-ordinator/ALDA Serbia, in the first session of the conference “Youth Participation on the Local Level Towards Sustainable Development Goals” and “European Youth Policies in Practice” were discussed.
In the second session of the conference, four parallel workshops were organized, which will result in the production of one recommendation paper about the improvement of “youth in public health and welfare policies”, “youth in education and employment policies”, “youth and rural development” and “youth in culture and creative industries.”
On the second day of the event, the Municipality of Sremski Karlovci has opened its doors to the participants of the Special Initiative within SEE Path of LADDER Project in the frame of the European Local Democracy Week and on the last day, the city of Zrenjanin welcomed high school students for the school parliament.
